If people can't monetise their content, they can't keep producing. Therefore they have to change the content they produce
It's not 'censorship' because YouTube is a private platform and creators (Philip DeFranco included) acknowledge this openly

It's 'censorship' in the same way Twitch banning
@radiatoryang's games is censorship. Not ad friendly = not allowed on platform -
Taking money away from people who make 'wrong' content is only semantically different from actively censoring that content imo
