@tactful Frankly I'd still use the hyphen because, unlike email, 95% of people dont' know what it is and would read "ess-ports"
@ariehkovler it's all about context. if you're talking to someone who doesn't know esports, they aren't going to know what eSports is anyway

@tactful they'd at least parse the word enough to get 'sport'. If they saw 'esports' it could be anything - a door, a typo for exports. -
@ariehkovler but that's what the context is for. even if you pronounce it "ess-sports" you've still parsed the word 'sports'.
