If I choose to mute or block someone on my personal Twitter it's because they insulted or harassed me. This is my personal Twitter account, following me isn't some human right guaranteed by law. If you don't want to be muted or blocked, don't insult or harass people, it's easy

I use this account to follow and talk with friends and mutuals + reply to people. If you're polite I'm happy to answer questions when I can, but if you fill my mentions with insults or spam, I use the tools Twitter provides to remove that spam. I recommend you do too

At the end of that day it's not that deep. I think it's important to remember that you don't owe people your time. You are a strong, singular person and you don't have to respond to anyone you don't want to, especially people who insult or harass. Do what's best for you

Replying to @tactful
A very important lesson to learn for sure. There are times where I get something vile online, and I'm halfway through typing a response, maybe even a few paragraphs in... And I just stop, "Is it worth it?" and delete all of it. Better to not let people like them get to me.

Yeah, that's generally my approach. I used to just mute but then K realised they're still sending tweets people can read, it's just I can't see them. At least blocking prevents replying unless someone tags, don't want young people reading these insults lol
