I think a few people were confused when we announced our move away from the weekly updates schedule. We tried to be as clear as possible, but to be 100% clear: we are still updating regularly. Just not every single Friday forever (for reasons in video / blog post)

Missed opportunity to combine 2 updates to break the record again
breaking records and BIG NUMBERS is super fun and validating, but it's not as important to us as providing regular quality content for all our players. I'd be happy with no records + 100% happy playerbase :)
