If you buy an inventory full of turnips at 100 bells and sell them for 500 bells, you'll get 1.6 Million bells profit (2 Million total) which goes into your inventory as described. You can also make bags of bells any time by clicking on Bell counter in inventory

Whoa, what!? Thank you, that's good to know! Man, I really love Animal Crossing, but it's so frustrating. WHY does this game not communicate such important things to new players in any way?
