hmmm... this is the year that everyone is gonna realise spending $$$ to exhibit at physical games events is not worth the return-on-investment, isn't it?
You don't need to pay to exhibit at an event to get 2/3 of those things. Hands on QA time is nice, but imo not enough value to justify the cost especially in an age of streaming, demos, digital events etc - there are also hidden costs of losing devs to planning, travel + sickness

To be clear, I’ve not said you’re wrong, so idk why you’re going in hard with things I already know. However I do disagree that seeing public interaction with a game =/= feedback from streaming/demoing. The passive feedback is very valuable.

I didn't intend to 'go in hard' so I apologise for that. I just don't think the direct and indirect costs of exhibiting at most shows are worth the benefits, which absolutely exist (watching someone play a game passively is definitely valuable like you described)
