from what i know too you cant have multiple animal crossing accounts on the same switch, so yeah.

It's one village per switch, so you can have multiple characters sharing the same village with separate houses

^Yup, that. Though, the first one to enter the village is the Resident Advisor person, so they do end up having a bit more full-featured experience, but it's still fun! also you can't play local co-op simultaneously with online co-op so there's that too
