does the new animal crossing have a better range of viable stuff to do or is it like the old one where anything that isn't catching beetles seemed a massive waste of time FOR PRODUCTIVITY REASONS (why yes, I do have a problem relaxing thank you very much, funny you should ask)

It's like every other animal crossing I've played but with some tiny QoL enhancements...

It's good, very very polished, but I think you have to like AC games. It's not a 10/10 essential, omg, everyone buy this..

I do like AC games - I just wanted them to sliiiightly broaden some stuff out so it didn't feel like quite as much of a funnel - might pick it up, I'll see.

I disagree that it's exactly the same - start on a deserted island and slowly build up 1 building at a time - farm resources + craft a huge variety of items - can earn Nook Miles, a 2nd currency - can spend Nook Miles to buy ticket to random generated island for more resources

There is still a soft platau on what you can accomplish in a day, that will always be the case. That's the game. But you can go online and freely trade with others and plan your days to maximise productivity - it's still fundamentally animal crossing, but "moreso"

no problem - it's still an animal crossing game with the exact same vibe, pacing, nuances but with (like the person said) a ton of QoL, polish and these new mechanics I was skeptical about them - was worried it would ruin the feel, but only adds to it. that's how I feel anyway
