Kotaku are going to pay writers who play games for review after work.
To be clear, this is unusual! Most writers I know have to play games for review in their own time outside of work. I have NEVER heard of writers being paid for playtime outside of work, ever.

I don't think they are paying staff, they're giving them time off? Not as good as payment but better than nothing imo - we used to get days in lieu for working weekend events at Multiplay but I'd have much rather been paid (often had holiday leftover)
