Haven't used Slack, but having heard it's just "business Discord" before Discord was a thing, it feels like Discord would be the better option. A target audience which doesn't need to focus on making anything, meaning that the time they spend on Discord has more focus when they

notice a feature they'd like is missing. That, and the general larger audience, along with the fact that some users may be inclined to use their personal account for business making it easier to contact them, and I'm not sure what Slack would offer.
