Goose Game is a great game that was widely accessible and it deserves all its success. But is it a better game than the other DICE GOTY nominees: Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds, Control and Death Stranding? All awards are subjective, but I'd argue it's the worst game in that set
If you haven't played any of these, Outer Wilds + Disco Elysium were 2 of my favourite games of the last year, possibly the last decade. The impact they'll have on the medium will be far-reaching. Control was great too, and Death Stranding was divisive but very interesting
It's definitely just getting praise and acclaim bcus "hehe funny goose haha it honk haha". It's just a throwaway game for some quick laughs, but hey, that's what sells and gets popular so power to em.
