Lots of people enjoy making and sharing things for free. This is valid and fine. But something feels supremely weird to me when a large corporation sells access to this content, generation millions in revenue, when creators see no return on their time and effort. I dunno...

EA has a clause for the Sims 4 custom content creators that it’s against the ToS to directly profit off of content - you have to release it for free. People get around it with Patreon early access for content

yeah, I saw a few patreons. glad some people are making some money, although I've no idea why they don't do a marketplace, I'm fairly certain they'd make more revenue against lower costs
