also i'm grading resumes and cover letters today -- i'd really like to give my students some industry level feedback! so, folks in tech & games & adjacent -- what are some of the most egregious errors you've seen in resumes/cover letters, and what is something you'd love to see?

this is ALSO a struggle! trying to get students to write to the job, but also not spending a whole paragraph on how much they love X game, or all the ideas they have about how to improve it.

Yeah, my first CV was so bad for this, shocked I got the job. Glad these students have a helping hand

Final thing: portfolios rock! Nothing proves you can do a job better than a bunch of actual examples of similar work you already did (even student or volunteer stuff). This is harder for certain roles but art, design, programming, writing, even comms can have portfolios
