It's a sad day for all humanity: the Bon Appetit YouTube comments section is officially toxic. People talking about which staff member they hate the most. People making, at best borderline-racist comments about certain team members. Time to never read these again lol

excessive popularity / videos constantly on Trending page = flood of newer / younger viewers = vibe shifted over time from cosy, casual "watching your fake friends cooking" to reposting the same 10 memes + having unhealthy parasocial relationships with professional kitchen staff

it's not BA's fault imo, their only "job" is to produce cool videos. the comments being fun was an added bonus. The subreddit is getting worse too, but eh
