Me 5 years ago: things don't affect me much on a deep emotional level, I'm great at compartmentalizing and task-switching, I'm very objective and 'logical', this makes me good at my jobs :) Me last year: oh my god I've had undiagnosed depersonalisation since I was a teenager

It's great that depression, suicidal ideation and other similar issues get so much coverage in media. But for years I was like "well I'm not depressed and have never had suicidal thoughts so I guess my mental health is great, awesome!" UK mental health services suck
