E3 is in the worst shape it's ever been -- last year it was half-empty, and that was before they doxed thousands of attending journalists -- so Sony skipping again would make total sense. I'd expect them to announce their own big PS5 event(s) instead

That number includes every attendee, whether they bought three-day or one-day passes, which makes it inadequate data for determining how many people were actually on the show floor during E3 week. Trust me when I tell you it was the emptiest I've ever seen

When I worked in marketing for a large gaming event, we did everything we could to make the numbers sound bigger. Weekend pass holders were counted twice, once for each day. All volunteers and staff were counted. You use whatever magic necessary to make the convention sound good
