I put the oven on to pre-heat, but I have an interview in 15 mins. Do I turn the oven off, saving electricity and then switch it on later? Or do I keep it going, knowing the interview could last up to an hour if there are follow-ups? These are the problems of my life
I leave ovens on unintended all the time. You can safely leave them on depending on what's in it and what temp it is, nothing bad will happen, you'll just spend money on electricity - should always be cautious in the kitchen though, obviously :D

Not always the case, my grandfather's home burned down because of an unattended oven... But I wish you luck. Even toasters if left plugged in can cause electrical fires.
