It's weird to do a big press release media splash about how your next game is going to feature a trans character and showcase authentic trans experiences, when you haven't said you have any trans people on your development team. If you want to further trans people, hire them
I'm skeptical of any announcement that has the words "we've partnered with an LGBTQ+ organisation to consult on our project and make sure our trans character is good" as opposed to, you know, "we have trans developers working on this game"

Consultancy is useful for smaller indies who don't have the life experience depicted in the story on staff but with AAA budgets they should absolutely be hiring trans devs. If they're not, and they continue to use this as such a blunt marketing beat then it's not a good look.

Well isn't that more demeaning to have someone who is trans to "be" the person consulted for the trans game because they're trans and must totally must know all about issues of being trans. Non issue.
