EDGE Magazine #339 will have 12 special-edition covers, each standing for a game that defined this decade There will also be a bundle for collectors https://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/gaming/edge-magazine-back-issues/edge-12-games-decade/ …pic.twitter.com/wQ4tJQKL88

Not even. Broken Age... At the very least, Gone Home was a game that was disscused about across different communities in the gaming industry. Broken Age... Wasn't that game "Broken" when it came out?

You need to think more laterally - Broken Age represents crowdfunding, and the revival of dead genres by circumventing publishers to go straight to consumers - Broken Age's huge kickstarter paved the way for crowdfunding campaigns, early access, and gamedev patreons

Honestly, Broken Age is the one out of place game here (save for Dark Souls, but fineeeeee) because Broken Age... really isn't as impactful as other Kickstarters have been. Like Mighty No. 9 had a greater impact for its KS success and eventual retail failure than Broken Age...

Broken Age (Double Fine Adventure) Kickstarter was over a year before Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter. Would Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter exist without Double Fine Adventure raising 3.5 million USD? hard to say - the Mighty No 9 team literally hired 2P productions after their work on DFA KS

By that mentality DAY-Z should be on that list and not Fortnite. I understand your point and I guess there are many different ways to define this past decade. I just don't think this list is very consistent, but it is what it is.

then they should have put shovel knight there instead because that one was both a huge success on kickstarter aswell as an amazing game, hell i would take mighty no.9 over this

Yeah, that would have fit. Broken Age raised 3.5 million though, Shovel Knight only raised 300k. I know Broken Age isn't remembered that fondly but at the time it was a real moment in games culture
