I'm not saying that either of those games should have done something different BTW - the audience generally wants that structure. I think that looking at the potential of games to be more than just work surrogates can be fruitful.
The actual piece was a lot more reasonable than the headline. I think people are mostly reacting to the headline / only skimming 3 paragrpahs / their feelings being hurt because they enjoyed goose and other games despite his definition of "work"
