I feel like this might be detrimental to the point of showing at a show? I see an idle character, it's an invite to play. Having something auto-playing on screen feels like a barrier to entry, and less likely to draw people in for a hands-on? You it *inviting* cc

Having worked at a gaming events company for 3 years, I don't think so. People crowd around when someone is playing something interesting and are more likely to walk past a static splash screen because there are dozens, 100s of other games on booths to play
