im not a tech security guy so maybe this is nothing but isn't it fucked up that right after they introduce the chip on cards to make them more secure they also introduce cards that you can just tap to pay?

what’s funny is that the UK had the chip for about 15 years and then the tap for five or so, it’s just that America’s dogshit infrastructure means you’re getting a decades worth of changes squashed into a couple of years
Yeah, this. Contactless payment is pretty recent tech, whereas chip and pin has been around for ages - was genuinely confused when I had to swipe my card in the US
