Can someone explain to me why pickles/gherkins exist? Do they ever taste good?

THIS. Proper Polish Gherkins are the best, crunchy, pickled in dill and taste amazing! (Might be biased being half Polish but totally agree, sliced burger pickles are limp and sad in comparison)

actually seems like the sort of thing you'd be into Ben - you can pickle + jar and even ferment them, it's super easy. tons of recipes online
