GDC submissions are open. I'm not going to say you shouldn't submit - it can be a big boost to visibility and careers. But do realize that it's a lot of unpaid labor for a for-profit company that runs a bunch of big conferences (UBM)

They also have restrictive policies on what talks you can submit, and those talks are generally not available to anyone who doesn't pay UBM a lot of money

I've spoken at GDC in the past, and maybe I will again some day, but I've not submitted anything recently because it just feels gross to me

I used to look at it as "giving back to the community", but the gift is to UBM, who then charge the community for access. Instead I've been submitting talks to smaller regional events

Nothing stopping you from recording a talk (webcam in corner of PowerPoint slide screenshots even) and posting it online if you want to 'give back' without supporting these orgs
