I think the worst part about being a long-time fan of Pokémon games is that instead of being excited for new features, you usually just dread what features you really liked that they’re probably going to remove next game
The trick is to only play 1 out of every 3 Pokémon games, then you're set. Literally every time I pick up a Pokémon game it's been so long I enjoy 3 games worth of iteration and don't know about the downsides
