S05 of Black Mirror was over super fast but felt really refreshing for a show that like...in danger of becoming stale because of what it had set up for itself as its reputation and the direction it seemed to be going in in a 6 episode structure, repeated themes etc.
I enjoyed it a lot, more than my friends who had different expectations. E2 especially was heartbreaking and brilliant, I really want to rewatch. Regardless I'm glad anthology shows of this caliber can get funded
E2 really hit me in the tear ducts, it woulda hurt more if I'd watched it a year ago when I was dealing with a lotta unwanted thoughts, if you catch my drift. I'd not be surprised if people didn't like this season for being different to the past 2 tbh
Not to fuckin pretend I know the mind of Brooker but I've seen enough interviews to get that there's a sense of humour to how he writes this stuff even when it's bleak, and idk if youd know that if you stumbled on one of the relentless episodes blind
