I understand your anger, you’re clearly passionate about games, I’m not so fussed. The Last of Us was a great game, I really enjoyed it, but to imply it’s anything other than an interactive copy of George A Romero’s best work is to be wilfully blind.

If you're taking recommendations: Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, Her Story and 80 Days are all short(ish) narrative-focused games that present interesting stories that could easily be compelling movies or TV shows, but are made better by being games

Huge yes to all of these. Not sure what you are into movie-wise but the Batman games, Arkham Asylum especially works really hard to tell a cohesive story that’s framed like a movie plot. More comic-based in tone than the Nolan movies though.
