Oh, for sure. But it still has to be considered when the designer specifically is looking for the player to feel "accomplishment by overcoming tremendous odds."
Add an Iron Man mode that doesn't let you turn on assist settings unless you restart the game. Job done - people who don't want to be tempted can play that mode 
I actually like that a lot! But like I said in a different tweet, I recognize that me giving up is my problem. I'd rather more people get to play the game. (The people who are arguing this idea tarnishes their prestige of beating the game are the worst.)
This argument is so dumb. "Well to balance the cheat mode we want, make another system that if you don't want to have it easy you can restart the whole PS4 and there it is"
It would be a dumb argument if it didn't already exist in some form in several games
