Counterpoint, this makes life easier for people with issues parsing a lot of text on screen at once. It can also be an ability issue.

Solid counterpoint if it were an option and I could switch to 'compact' mode, which I tried already. I'd be interested in hearing if accessibility actually fed into this design - I know they changed their shuffle icon some years back to account for colorblind people

Just more spacing isn’t it - looks like it could use a ‘compact’ and a ‘comfortable’ preference as the actual content is exactly the same

I checked + theres no alternative view but that would be much desired. The change has one functional benefit - that you can more quickly tab between artists, playlists, albums, and also podcasts (which they're pushing hard) - but you could defo keep that without losing 1/2 tiles

It fits really cleanly on the iPhone X, that’s what I like about it xd

It looks nice, but there's literally half the number of tiles left. I need to see all 8 playlist so I can be more indecisive about choosing which one I listen to in the shower! :P

I agree that the user UX is worse here, but I have to say it looks way better like this, way cleaner tbh
-
Sure, but I have to scroll twice as much to see all my playlists and it's harder for me to decide which one without seeing more on-screen. Perhaps it would look even prettier if they only displayed 1 playlist on screen, but that would be a terrible idea right?
