I think "it sucked" understates the importance of the design decision here, they movement was toned down because it undermined the ability for players to anticipate whether other people would be and made the game harder to learn. It definitely understates it, but I linked the article if people wanted to learn more specifics. Wall running and double jumping would make traversal hectic. I totally agree with all your points (as do Respawn designers according to the article)
