Why are the first 3 seconds of a movie trailer now a trailer for the trailer? What's wrong movie marketing peeps, do you not think I have an attention span of more than 3 seconds? It's already abbreviating 2 hours, I don't need you to abbreviate 90 seconds! Good grief.

I typed a similar response but forgot to send The majority of views come from people scrolling in feeds. The few seconds of action (often with no sound) capture the attention of less-invested viewers, whereas invested viewers whilst annoyed will still watch anyway so :shrug:
also a lot of teams will literally crop the video to 1:1 for social so more of the frame fills a phone screen in vertical mode because it has higher conversion. heresy and tragedy!

You’ll find now a lot of marketing teams will make different cuts of the trailer or asset depending on where it’s being posted. One for Instagram will be different to twitter because audiences are different on each platform too.
