From what little I heard, his life goes to shit and his delusions get stronger AFTER he stop his meds. And the show’s trying to sell it like he’s actually never been more self aware. It’s like a diabetic who stopped thier insulin and goes, “i CHOOSE to go into this coma”
Meh. The only scenario in which you take your prescribed medications results in you releasing a bad video game. That's the implicit message, even if his delusions get stronger off meds
I see it differently, it was his first game, the scope was way too big, it was always going to be terrible. The ending where he takes his meds is the best possible ending. Nobody dies, Tuckersoft stays afloat and Stefan learns a valuable lesson that will make his next game better
The best ending is where he accepts the job, gets colleague support and a decent nights sleep, and the company and Stefan learn how to make better games.
