Some people are missing the point: it's not about it being 1:1 in feed on mobile, its about it being 1:1 when you click to expand, which people will if you use a good tagline, and also on your page. There's a reason they're slicing the sides off all their beautiful movie trailers

I get more annoyed by people posting square images on Twitter with messaging that gets cut off (your original tweet triggered me!) But completely with you on video, I personally opt for 1:1 and sometimes 4:5 for Facebook.

I get what you mean, it's annoying, but 16:9 images with text are subatomic on mobile twitter. Might as well commit to using taller formats and eat the cutoff, otherwise it looks bad at zoom. But otherwise fully agree
