Surely this depends on the platform? Your pic presented in a widescreen format on my iphone for example. A good portion of the verticality was cut off.

It displays at 2.21:1 unzoomed in the feed, but people click to zoom to read. Using 16:9 means zoom does nothing. People will click to view the image or video if they want to watch, hence why most movie trailers are cut to 1:1 for FB, Twitter and Insta
