Tom Nook doesn't aggressively collect on debt. In fact, you can go without repaying for years and he doesn't say anything. So presumably you can default on debt at no cost, meaning Nook takes the hit, so no recession

And he cares about the enviroment aswell. As soon as someone moves out their house is removed so there's more space for nature. And if someone moves into town they quickly just build a new house and finish just as they arrive.
