2) Visual aids are massively important to break up the flow of text. 3 paragraphs = disgusting, but one paragraph followed by a screenshot or gif allows for a little mental break and reduces drop-off. Also helps skimmers find their most valuable information

3) The purpose of Comms is usually to convey a message from your brain to the reader's brain via the interim medium of text, images, video, whatever. It's telepathy, and stuff often gets lost in the transfer, so distil down to your core points. Less points = higher success rate

5) Figure out the message you want to convey, then write around that. For instance, if the only purpose of your post is to tell the audience a release date, literally put it at the top. Dont have a funny little intro that ppl skip. Convey the point as fast + minimally as possible

6) If you ever feel like you need to write more, you actually need to write less. Cut what you have in half. Every extra word means more readers dropping off or tuning out. Much like Twitter, you'll often find in editing that you didn't need all those extra words anyway

9) Embedded GIFs or looping videos aren't just visually interesting they're often way more effective at conveying a mechanic or piece of info than words. Use the medium that best conveys the message

11) Structure your sentences and paragraphs to front load information. This makes it easier to skim. Headings make it even easier. If a reader is skimming for a paragraph about weapon upgrades, makes it easier for them if you start "We're adding 6 new Weapon Upgrades."

12) Comms isn't art, it's data transfer. Sure, it can be entertaining or artistic, but its primary purpose is to get something from your head into their head. Everything in the piece should live in service to that

15) Formatting is a crutch, but it works. If you make something 72pt font, people won't skip it. If you make something bright red, people will be drawn to it. Graphics are useful too. Use sparingly and strategically
