yes. I always prefer to think good of people. So I assume they just couldn't afford the severance and were so bad at math they didn't see this moment coming.

There is no outcome in this situation short of making millions of dollars off of a charity donation that'll allow them to pay severance or help the staff that no longer works for them.

if you believe they can't help the laid off staff no matter what, I don't see the point of your original tweet then

To point out this is incredibly unfair towards every single one of those staff.

laying them off without severance pay or as much as a warning - yes. Finishing the game with external financing - why?

Because it should be a precondition the people that got laid off get severance before any funding of any product is even a discussion.

how would you personally achieve this if the company is out of money?

Not, because I wouldn't have risked 250 people's lives like that.

oh, the fact they haven't planned far enough to afford severance is already telling. But in this particular situation - what would you do? The money is gone, the staff is fired.

I'd suggest they not bait consumers into buying a game based on the unlikely circumstance that it will be finished, after firing 250 staff with no severence

this is a very good point and I agree with you. But I'm trying to figure out how Rami would have helped the laid-off staff before finishing the game.

By not accepting any deal that doesn't involve severance.
