I feel that. I'd get games on my birthday and Christmas then I was very lucky to get ones anywhere in between
Growing up as a low income gamer meant reading about 1 game over + over again in magazines, waiting forever, then desperately hoping that it was worth the money you had scraped together over 3 months. Then you'd beat that game 50 times until the disc was too scratched to boot

I played the first few discs so many times, I think maybe the last disc was scratched and wouldn't play (bought it preowned)

This, but more than once reading the pc system requirements wrong and then realising I’d just burned that money

Don't I know this feeling, when Halo 3 came out I was late to the game, but it tided me over for like three years. Then Halo reach came out and the cycle repeats
