Design Q: In Mario Kart, there’s loads of “secret” info you can learn to get an edge. Like the start line boost, drifting, holding items as shields, etc. Is that fair? Is it good design?
I think it's just skill ceiling stuff. Rocket League has the exact same: air roll, learning how to aerial etc. The 'hidden' stuff is communicated word of mouth, or for people who dive deeper (looking up guides on YT or elsewhere)
