I can just take a pic of it on my phone thru the bank app and it deposits it :)
I went to cash a cheque earlier. The bank had an automatic cheque-scanning machine; I was amazed, how could it work? I excitedly insert my cheque, it spits it out and says "No moron, you write down the details of the cheque on a special piece of paper right on top of the machine"

My bank had a machine that would accept them raw, just your weird English banks. Also they accepted it online by taking a photo!
