Pirating Photoshop when I was a teenager has honestly been one of the most useful things I ever did. Chatting with some other artists and they agree. If you're young and you've got no money, hustle all you need until you make your paper
Every industry job uses Max as standard. Blender is not a fully viable alternative to max, and not having max experience will make you less hireable. Sorry, you're wrong on this one, if you have no money you do what you gotta do to cross the barriers. We all did

Ye gods, nope :) Only old Max users say that! The industry has long moved on. People have Maya, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance Painter, MARI and a crapton of quite capable software. Which Bender is, too. Max is unloved, undermaintained child badly in need for a complete redesign

There is a vast gulf of difference between a "dirty industry secret" and advocating for it on an open forum. Artists cannot have it both ways, cry foul when someone steals thier work and then turn round and do the same to software. Not wrong on this, morally or technically.
