Please don't! It's never too late to change. I said and did some questionable stuff online when I was in school, but if you learn and change then people respect that. Many other successful games industry people also did the same - lots of.. passionate posts on forums + twitter

No, devs love fan art and fan communities full of people who are passionate about a game. For some devs it's their favorite thing to see people enjoying their work and creating things inspired by it :)
