Once committed republicans gushing over the visiting members of the Windsor family on the GC is really disgusting to watch. An Australian Head of State should be a resident of the country they represent, and these republicans should be telling that to Charles

Since can’t explain why it is acceptable to uphold the Bible’s teaching on people and not the sabbath, the only option he really leaves me with is to take the view that he is a rampant homophobe and hypocrite.

It’s kind of nice having members of the royal family here, because it’s always during their visits that I’m at my most republican

The mess of dragging the to the centre is entirely of Di Natale’s making, and it’s because he insists on using the word “progressive.” They are not the progressive party, they are the Greens. Stop using the word and the media will stop it’s interpretation

This story about the being a new party is rubbish

The content of this speech is very good, but it’s like Di Natale is trying to jam as much content into 30 minutes as possible. He’s coming off as incoherent, which is the biggest problem right now, and they don’t seem to be able to get past it

If the are starting and leading the conversation, then they should be turning their attention to proportional voting, so that they win the seats they deserve. Until they start doing this, these speeches will be just words

Neville Wran never spoke about his opponents. He never gave them oxygen. Richard Di Natale should take a leaf out of his book

Let's be really clear: is singlehandedly destroying generations of parliamentary convention. This could be the end of pairs, meaning MPs won't be able to be at the birth of their children, be with dying parents or take health leave

He says he'd do it all again...Talk about being unsuitable for political leadership...he has no respect for the democratic parliamentary system, or no understanding of it (I'm not sure which is worse):

Can we refer to people/companies who may not have paid their tax yet as tax cheats up front please? Just to be even-handed.

Spent my weekend watching a series of documentaries on . With the rise of Sinn Fein and the more recent McGuinness-Paisley St Andrews Agreement, one often forgets the giant he is. Glad I reminded myself. One of the more deserving laureates.

Heavens. You’d almost think Steve Smith had imprisoned 10yr old kids in some Pacific Island concentration camp. Or was a Bank CEO who’d cheated and robbed $100s of millions from his most vulnerable customers. Eh ?

Today we introduced a bill in Parliament to bring our state one step closer to a treaty with Aboriginal Victorians. This bill has been years in the making. It hasn't been easy. If it passes, we'll be on our way towards a treaty with our First Peoples.
