@TeamYouTube Hi, a few weeks ago I changed the name of and deleted my custom URL for one of my YT channels.. However, though it says I'm still eligible for a custom URL, I can only choose to get the one I used to have.. Any thoughts on how to use the new name for the URL?

While you can't change a custom URL, you have to remove the existing one and claim a new one using the steps mentioned in the Help Center article: https://yt.be/help/4moa . Hope this helps.

Right, I read that earlier.. So I removed the existing URL a couple of weeks ago, then changed the channel name. When I go to set up a new one I can only choose one URL: the old one with the old display name..

Hmm, could you share your channel URL and the URL you want to claim? Thanks.

The URL used to be http://youtube.com/c/TheAviatorHD and I’d like to claim http://youtube.com/c/fromthesky

Thanks for the URL. To be eligible to claim a custom URL, your channel needs to have at least 100 subs. Know more info about custom URL eligibility here: http://yt.be/help/4moa . Hope this helps clarify.

Thankyou, yes I knew that.. It’s been inactive for a while so that’s why.. However in the settings menu it still says that the channel is eligible.. When clicking to create the URL, it only gives the option of using the old URL
