I am exactly the same. if I start writing something I spend ages agonising over the first sentence and I never just move on to the next paragraph if I'm not happy with the one I'm on yet

I also think that I take so long with the first draft because I'm no good at editing after the fact though. once I've written something I kind of internalise it so that it feels very difficult to change even if I want to. so pre-editing feels like a way to dodge that problem

It does help to get in the habit of revisiting your productions in the role of editor. If you can get just a little distance and not beat your past self up about them.
