In most cases, whatever it is will get better. Either the irritant will go away or you will stop caring about it. Or learn to ignore it.

I was unhappy and severely stressed and broke and in poor health. Now I am none of those things. Not a raging success in terms a younger version of me would have accepted, but feeling decently well and hopeful (moderately) and stable and sane.

I owe some of the improvement to good fortune but most of it to very many hours of reflection, self-criticism and pushing myself to evolve...and to interact with people once in a while.
