The connection being that we are at least disingenuous if not outright dishonest in some way when we engage with each other this way

Odd to reflect on this, because I think I am considered a good listener, but sometimes I think I only do it to break the isolation, and don’t really “care” about the person. Even performing a positive social role there is something false occurring.
