Don't be mad at your aunt or your college roommate for becoming media-deranged. Be mad at the people your society has set up as hero-experts but who fail almost universally to live up to that charge.

It should not be necessary for everyone here to be exasperated with their friends and families over shortcomings in their ability to sift through evidence that lead them to be suckered by the press again and again. Direct that ire toward editors, journalism profs and reporters.
