Two years later, I did my second #NaNoWriMo and it went extremely smoothly
— and I mean smoothly, I wrote 61K words in 30 days + added 40K when I wrote the second draft a couple of months later — this is SMOOTHLY
because I decided to prepare:

1. I wrote down the overall story of the book — it's called a synopsis sometimes, who cares? 2. I broke down story beats into chapters of roughly 2000 words 3. I made sure my story was broke down into 25 chapters (25 * 2000 = 50 000 words clever, heh)

Then every day and I mean ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴅᴀʏ during November, I followed this process: 1. Edit yesterday's chapter 2. Write today's chapter 3. Prepare tomorrow's chapter Edit means: read, fix, cut, and make things longer when it needs to Write means: just WRITE

#NaNoWriMo number 2 was not only FUN to write, it taught me a lot about my writing and all the little things mistakes I did.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
Two years later, I did
#NaNoWriMo number 3 and it went well. I made ONE mistake tho, I thought it would be fun to do 2 short novels instead of one big and the results are: the first one is done and is good the second one is "done and is just a big, blurry, draft1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
So, if you want to write, either as a hobby or as a professional, I would recommend trying the
#NaNoWriMo. It is a good exercice and a nice way to train your writing muscles. It is not for everyone and it is not going to make write you write A BOOK. It gives you a first draft.1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
a first draft is actually the hardest part of writing now you have to fix things without breaking what is working you have to be committed to your story so it is better than what your mind made you write down it is hard

#NaNoWriMo has a wonderful community right here: https://www.nanowrimo.org/what-is-nanowrimo … (it probably has a discord or similar now but I'm old)1 reply 0 retweets 3 likesShow this thread -
