when i started learning reverse engineering and assembly, i took older versions of software with known buffer overflows and started practicing with that, then moved onto higher level stuff like malware analysis. it felt very approachable that way -- just for your consideration :D

Would suggest learn the assembly instructions & branching and small concepts very well then go for a debugger GDB comes pretty handy then you can go for IDA/GHIDRA . Also you can try crackmes they are pretty fun and helpful . And last , join
